Why Define My Day...
I created Define My Day out of necessity. I was an underachiever. I had big dreams but never learned grit and focus. By my mid-thirties, I had a family and a business. I was totally unhappy.
My marriage was in trouble, my business was taking over my life, and I didn't see a way out. I didn't have hope that it would get better because I didn't have a plan. I only knew how to do what I was already doing... and I was failing... failing in work, failing in my marriage, failing in life.
The Turning Point
I knew a significant change needed to take place and it had to start with me. I read books, bought online courses, read articles, and implemented all of it. From motivation to professional skills and habits, I tried everything. It was exhausting. I was making progress, but I couldn't keep up the pace. I lacked one major component... focus.
I was expending huge amounts of energy on EVERYTHING. Sure, when you do that, change will come, much of it positive, but nobody can keep up that pace. I had to step back, take a look at what was most important to me, and refocus my energy. That's when I started the Define My Day process.
Define My Day
It took some experimentation over a few years. I tried different strategies. I refined the process into something that didn't add too much extra work into my day. After all, I was already exhausted.
I needed Define My Day to be:
- Quick
- Simple
- Adaptable to any situation
- Convenient to carry around
Define My Day became my bible and my life story. Everything major thing I did was recorded in Define My Day. My goals, priorities, notes, and reminders for each day were recorded. Looking back, I can see my growth, struggles, and how far I have come.

- Visualize your ideal self and begin moving toward that person.
- Develop daily priorities that person would accomplish.
- Identify and avoid distractions that person would not engage in.
- Create daily disciplines that create habits and build your health and mindset.

You must commit to making real changes in your life. Positive change will only come when you take on the responsibility for your own achievement and do the work, even when you don't feel like it.
